Police on high alert throughout  Tamil Nadu

As the news of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha worsened following a cardiac arrest, the police across the state has been issued high alert orders.

Thousands of Jayalalitha’s supporters are even now standing outside Apollo hospital, waiting for news of their leader.

The TN CM has now been in Apollo for nearly 2 months and was on the way to recovery , when she suddenly suffered a cardiac arrest yesterday and was shifted back to ICU overnight from her private room. She has now been put on extensive life support in the form of ECMO(Extra corporeal membrane oxygenation) and the latest health bulletin from the hospital called her condition very critical.

Dr, Richard Beale-“The situation is extremely grave”

Dr, Richard Beale, the London-based Intensivist who had visited her in Apollo and had since been monitoring her condition, said, “The situation is extremely grave, but I can confirm that everything possible is being done to give her the best chance of surviving this shocking event. She is being cared for by a highly multi-disciplinary team and is now on extra corporeal life support. This is the most advanced level of support available and is the approach the best centres internationally would take in this situation. That this technology is available in Apollo Chennai reflects the high degree of expertise of this centre and, that at all times, Madam has received exceptional care from Apollo and AIIMS care team, which are equal of any in the world,” in a phone interview with the media

Meanwhile her AIADMK party went into a huddle and in an emergency meeting chose V.Paneerselvam as their leader. All point out to the criticality of the CM’s health condition.

Doctors from AIIMS, Delhi have flown in to assess her health status and the Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu has also landed in Chennai. The 8.00 pm news bulletin from the hospital is eagerly awaited.
