The incident of missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed has taken a fresh turn. The Proctorial board enquiry instituted by the Jawaharlal Nehru University has finally submitted its report.
It found the ABVP student Vikrant Kumar guilty of insulting and assaulting Najeeb Ahmed on the night of October 14-15th, after which the First year M.Sc Biotechnology student went missing.”In the proctorial enquiry, Vikrant Kumar has been found to be involved in hitting Najeeb Ahmed and using derogatory language with provocative behaviour on October 14. This is an act of indiscipline and misconduct,” an official order read.
Following the report, the ABVP students chose to support Vikrant Kumar and even blamed the University for being partisan. “The proctor has taken deposition of those students into account who were not even present there. Not only the enquiry is biased but even the administration is siding with the left-dominated students union,” said Saurabh Sharma, ABVP member.
It is now to be seen what action is taken on the student and his organization (ABVP is the student wing organization of the RSS) responsible for Najeeb going missing from the campus, for more than a month now.
