The Hyderabad High Court issued notices to 20 turncoat MLAs who won the elections on YCP ticket and later joined ruling TDP. The court took up the petition seeking their disqualification under anti defection for hearing on Monday and issued notices to the legislators for their explanation. The court while admitting the case made some strictures like comments before adjourning the case for four weeks.
With court intervention the MLAs who shifted loyalties to the ruling party expecting cabinet berth or other plump posts and favours are said to be repenting their mistake. Chandrababu Naidu offered cabinet berths, contracts, nominated posts and promised to meet all their demands. But even after one year or so nothing has happened instead they lost whatever credibility and respect they used enjoy in their respective constituencies. And on the other the turncoat MLAs are facing skirmish conflicts with local old guards of the ruling party.
And the grapevine has it that most of the turncoats are repenting their mistake fearing anti- defection law hanging on their neck.
