The Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee called for an united opposition to fight against the anti-people demonetization move of the government , which she caked “a big black scandal.” She also called the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee to take an appointment on 16 th and 17th November to explain the grim situation.

In a statement, Banerjee further said, “This is not an ego battle. I humbly appeal again to the government at the Centre. Save the common people from more suffering and the country from financial catastrophe by withdrawing this hasty decision. First please put a proper action plan in place. There should be a breathing space for people.”

“PM should apologise to the people for making fun of those standing in lines”- Kejriwal

The Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal criticized the government’s action and called for an immediate reversal of the decision before things go out of control. He also remarked that the PM has not taken action on the 648 Swiss bank account holders, including Robert Vadra. Instead he was making fun of the people waiting in queues by calling them scamsters. He also rubbished the perceived threats to Modi’s life and asked him to “stop the drama.”

Uddhav Thackeray dared PM Narendra Modi to conduct “surgical strikes” on Swiss banks to bring back black money.

Lalu Prasad asks PM whether every individual would get the ‘promised’ Rs 15 lakh each in their bank accounts after 50 days.

“It would be considered as ‘Fergical strike’ and ‘fake encounter’ of people if they do not get Rs 15 lakhs in their accounts after doing all these exercises,” the RJD chief said in reference to Modi’s claim of bringing back black money stashed abroad in Swiss banks and submit Rs 15 lakhs each in bank accounts of people during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.Lalu also said that people wanted to know from PM the list of capitalists, who owed outstanding loans to the banks and, also the stern measures taken by the government to realise dues from them.

modi-surgical-strikesFive days after the banning, people are seen suffering at the ground level, causing many to question the targeting of common folk in this fight against black money that has already left the shores of India and is safe in foreign banks. Many are also left wondering about the circulation of a higher currency in the form of new Rs. 2000 when the reason was to wipe out corruption.

A list of the outstanding loans that big industrialists owe to banks is also being circulated.
