Deepika Padukone to act in Majid Majidi’s film

The star of the recent Hollywood film, xXx: Return of Xander Cage is set to act in a film by Majid Majidi. Iranian director, Majid Majidi is one of the celebrated filmmakers of the world today. The master filmmaker has made classics like Children of Heaven (1997), The Color of Paradise (1999) and Baran (2001).

Children of Heaven is a classic film of Majid Majidi which deserves special praise. It deserves to be watched by all adults and all children. It deals with the love and affection shared by a brother and sister, who both share a single worn out pair of shoes, through out the film. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language film in 1998. While watching the film, acclaimed Singaporean filmmaker Jack Neo and his wife were moved to “holding hands and crying after seeing the love shared by the children.” He later made a film based on Children of Heaven.

Deepika Padukone has started shooting for the new film directed by Majid Majidi and the photographs reveal her drastic transformation.
