The impossible has happened. The media this time was totally off the mark. Donald Trump beat all odds and predictions to get a stunning and resounding majority for himself and the Democrats.
Hillary Clinton concedes defeat
Trump in his victory speech, addressed a gathering of his enthusiastic supporters at Trump Towers ” Secretary Hillary called and congratulated me. I thanked her for a hard fought campaign, we owe her a debt of gratitude but it is now time to bind the wounds and come together.”
In a highly subdued address for him, Trump said that it is “time for us to come together,” and promised to be president “for all Americans.” He pledged his commitment to renew the American dream and promised to put the untapped potential of millions of American people to work as they rebuild the country.
He profusely thanked his parents, sisters, brother, late brother and his wife, Melania, daughter, son in law and many others who stood by him in the 18-month gruelling campaign.
He ended his speech saying, “the campaign is over but our work on this new movement is really beginning.”
PM Modi congratulates Trump
Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his victory and said he looked forward to working together with him to enhance ties. One of the popular slogans of the Indian Hindus supporting Trump was, “Ab ki baar , Trump sarkar.” Trump’s staunch supporter Sulabh Kumar, an NRI businessman talked about an early meeting of the two leaders.
