Anantapur district has elected as many as 13 ruling party candidates in 2014 elections and two of them even became Ministers in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu cabinet. And, no other than the State Medical and Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas is district in charge Minister. But the district hospital in Anantapur has literally turned into an orphan. Leave alone upgrading and providing new facilities as promised, the equipment, like CT Scan and MRI machine already sanctioned and delivered have been enrooted / diverted to Vijayawada over night like Handri- Neeva motors enrooted to Pattisema. The Chief Minister promised AIMS to Anantapur but finally it too landed in Amaravathi.
And of the two Ministers one has no voi9ce to raise objection and the other believes that AP means Amaravathi (Vijayawada). Even within the district Anantapur district hospital is neglected. For example Hindupur MLA Bala Krishna scathed away mother child wing sanctioned at Anantapur hospital to Hindupur. If we look at the overall picture of Anantapur district hospital become an orphan, the people complain.
