Survey reports are making Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu uncomfortable. He has the tradition of conducting political and intelligence surveys over the performance of party MLAs and Ministers in the state. However, the latest survey revealed shocking reports that the ruling Telugu Desam Party will face challenging times in the 2019 general elections.
A survey headed by Naidu’s daughter in-law Brahmani revealed that the TDP would not get more than 57 seats out of 175 seats in Andhra Pradesh, even if it continued to have an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The failures of ruling party will turn out to be the gain for the main opposition party, YSR Congress Party which would gain political mileage across the state. Brahmani’s survery reports revealed that YSRCP would make a remarkable comeback by winning over 100 seats. The report also got the feedback over the declining image of the government among the people. There is lack of proper governance in the state, government failure in achieving of special category status and lack of progress in the capital construction- these are said to be some of the reasons for the TDP’s impending debacle.
Based on the survey reports, Brahmani suggested that unless a comprehensive action plan is implemented, the TDP will not retain power in the next elections.
