Rs 25,000-cr plan for Hyd development: KTR

Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K T Rama Rao today said Rs 25000-crore plan was getting ready to take up road-laying works, underground drainage and other facilities. He vowed to cleanse up thoroughly the GHMC to cater to the needs of the people and provide basic amenities.

In an informal chat with the media persons here on Wednesday, the minister maintained that he would give top priority to white top the roads in the city and to address the underground drainage problems. He said the JP Group has come forward for restoration of the roads with quality and standards and works will begin at Nagarjuna Circle and KCP Junction. It was also decided to remove the division system of major roads under the GHMC’s purview.

Besides decentralization of powers at circle level, it was decided to offer the best services by increasing the number of circles to 30 from 24, the minister stated.
