MEET OUR OWN JOSEPH GOEBBELS!

“It would not be impossible to prove with sufficient repetition and a psychological understanding of the people concerned that a square is in fact a circle. They are mere words, and words can be moulded until they clothe ideas and disguise” said Joseph Goebbels, the infamous Propaganda Minister of Hitler. In the globalized back-drop we find our own breed of Goebbelses mushrooming in every corner. It’s our fortune, rather, to have one of them as the Chief Minister of AP. Many of his fellow members of the AP Cabinet are trying their best to outsmart their own leader. Yeah, as Zhdanov, the Soviet Model of Goebbels, once stated the “Only competition that can exist is between the Good and the Best.” That’s called the Spirit boy!

Let’s study a relatively recent exercise by our own breed of Goebbels. The CM of AP and his ministerial colleagues have been repeatedly stating that their govt. has waived the loans of farmers to the tune of Rs. 24,000 Crores and all the farmers of the State have been benefitted to that extent. They also say that the remaining loans would also be waived soon. But, the facts and figures available with the Bankers do not confirm this propaganda. According to the Bankers’ books, the amount that reached their coffers is less than Rs. 7,000 Crores.

Then why does the CM&Co is bombarding so many lies through the publicity vehicles? No, they are not spreading these lies for nothing! This is the long and short of it- kindly endure it to the end:

It’s known to one and all that Chandrababu Naidu went on promising throughout his poll campaign programme that as soon as he comes to Power he would introduce an all encompassing, unconditional Loan Waiver Scheme, putting an end to the misery of already suffering farmers of the State. But, he very well knows that it is an impossible task to achieve. He got it confirmed by his Local and Global ‘experts’ who advised him to use it as a propaganda trick and dump the farmers at the end of his tenure with a grave burden of Thousands of Crores of Rupees. He is faithfully following their suggestion and continuing to lie consistently. He is also conscious of the fact that the fmers would never vote for him in future. He is indulged in a kind of “Damage Management Exercise” rather than responsible and fair politics. Chandrababu wants to save his face before other sections of people like Middle Classes, Employees, Students and Youth fearing that they would never forgive him if they come to know that Babu duped the large masses of farming communities of the State. Hence, he is pushing these concocted figures and make-believe facts through publicity vehicles.

Either the Nazi Goebbels or Nara Goebbels, they rely on a simple calculation: those who try to know and get access to facts and figures will always remain very less in number. And, the farmers of our land are so gullible that they would not hesitate to believe any lie provided in print. In a way he is attempting to many birds at one shot. It may sound so far so fine. But, Babu&Co should not forget a fact- that ours is a democratic country where rival political parties are also entitled for freedom of expression. Won’t they be exercising it to realize their political goals?
