ENCOUNTER IN CHHATTISGARH

Chhattisgarh police encountered Seven Maoists today. One of them is understood to have been a woman. According to the police version the Maoists were encountered by them while taking up a combing operation at Darbaghat, Jagdalpur district, Chhattisgarh. As the police version of the incident goes, the Naxals started an unprovoked ambush instantly which forced the police to give a fitting reply. The cross firing reportedly went on for about two hours in which seven Maoists, one of them being a woman, were killed. Three other Maoists were reportedly taken into custody by police from whom they recovered one K.G. of RDX.
